<span>In this talk, the origins, history, and main representative genres and composers of 20th-century Greek Art Music and Song will be explored. Issues of cultural identity, symbolic values, and aesthetic principles of 20th-century Greek music will be discussed.
Special emphasis will be placed on the music of Manos Hadjidakis, one of the most emblematic composers/poets associated with Greek art music and song. Some of his music, highly representative of his stylistic evolution, will be played and discussed during
