Here we have let expectant mothers reserve a bike spot in the bike cage on the floor of our bike cage by allowing them to leave their lock in place when they leave for the day. Many of our racks are on the wall of the cage, and the wall racks are for some reason the least desirable and the last ones left. One expectant mother regularly arrived at work later in the morning and was having trouble using the wall racks that were left. This worked fine for all involved. It may not translate into the car parking world but thought you may find it interesting.
