[Toastmasters] Duty Roster: 26 September - 3 October

Our meeting this week was a great reminder, not only that we have some really funny people in our club, but that just about any topic can be funny. We had bilingual rocks, disappearing cars, embarrassed hitchhikers, and all (I hope) had a great time. Congratulations to Manuel for being chosen to represent ZotSpeak at the next level (and beyond).

Our meeting next week, September 26, will be our Evaluation Contest. We currently have three contestants, but would encourage many more to participate. I've always seen Toastmasters as giving me the freedom to stretch my boundaries, to do things that I've always found frightening. Participating in contests is one way to experience that freedom. If you've always thought, "I'm not good enough to compete," this is a great, low-pressure way to start overcoming that negative reflex and to prove to yourself that you can do it!

The following week, October 3, will be our Demo Meeting. It's our chance to show off the best club in Founder's District, so it's important to have as many of us in attendance as possible. Also, if you know somebody who might be interested in seeing what we're all about, this would be a great meeting to have them come and visit.

One final (hopefully) reminder: Dues are due. Our club must send a list of paid members to headquarters before the end of the month. If you haven't paid your dues yet, please remember to bring your check ($36, made out to ZotSpeak Toastmasters) to the meeting next week.
