Fall Sailing Classes and More Please Pre-register for these classes.
You can enroll in person or by phone at 824-3738
1. Get your friends and co-workers to sign up for Capri 1, especially
the weekday classes. This is what keeps the program growing in future, and
it is the best quarter for weather. They can sign up by phone at the ARC
824-3738
2. Have a Capri rating but want to sail with some company??
Join the Capri "plus "class on Wednesday 3:45-7pm . Any Current paid
UCISA member with a Capri Rating, can join this class for FREE. Get extra
time on the water, and some good hints, and find people to sail with
(Sailing Capri's is a great way to prepare for Shields Ratings, too.)
Class starts this week Oct. 3 RSVP jlibbets at uci.edu
3 Shields classes or Keelboat 1 is offered both Friday afternoon and
Saturday 10-pm. Both start this week. Sign up for 1 class, and attend
both days, Open to those with a Capri ratings, or successful completion of
Capri 1 and 2 .
4. Working towards your Keelboat ratings? Keelboat 2 is offered on
Sunday 10-1pm. Great class to take more than once, to get your skills up to
the level for the test.
5. Keelboat 4: This spinnaker class is offered in a small group, hands
on class, on Wednesday 1:30-4:30,

6. Advanced keelboat class: Great Opportunity to improve your Shields
skipper skills for S1's, S2's and those working towards S3 OR Those working
toward Keelboat rating See Below

Advance Boat handling class with Steve Reed
Dates: Sunday Oct 7 and Sunday October 14, 2007
Time: 12:30-4:30pm
Cost: $15
Sign up: at the ARC, or call the sales desk at 824-3738.
RSVP: jlibbets at uci.edu (please do as well as register with the ARC.) We
need to plan and sign out the boats.
What is this class? This class is for those who have their S1 or S2 and
are working towards becoming a races skipper S3 or who want to REALLY
improve their sailing skills. If you are working towards a Shields rating,
sign up to Crew, usually you will get a chance to steer too.
Steve will teach you drills and maneuvers that will help you control the
boats in tight spots, and are great tactical tricks as well.
(There will be a follow up for those working towards your S1 l).
