Sailing: FW: ratings etc

To all UCISA members and potential Members


We are trying to organize ratings for both Capri's and Shields

 

For Capri's" please RSVP to me and let me know if you are ready to get your
Capri Ratings. We will schedule some ratings days depending on your
interest.

RSVP to jlibbets at uci.edu  When you RSVP let me know what classes you have
had and when.

 

We know there are some of you, who are ready now, so let's get you out on
the water now.  We will be doing some on Sunday Nov.25 11:30-2pm.  RSVP if
you want to come to that date.

 

 In addition  there will be some  written test reviews to help you refresh
that as well. We have short review and then the test can be given in the
evening, and the practical at the sail base.

 

 For those currently in Capri 1 classes, we will schedule those as your
classes are ending, either at the end of winter, or the first of the winter
quarter.

 

FOR Shields 1 and 2:  This can be a bit longer process than the Capri's but
we are committed to getting you rated.

 

First remember that you do need a Capri 1 rating.  IN FACT, Sailing the
Capri's, is actually a good way to be sure that your overall sailing skills
are up to speed. 

 

RSVP and let me know that you are interested in getting your Shield ratings
and what classes etc you have had, and if you have done any tutoring and/ or
the written test.

 

We will be offering a written review.  We are also be setting up some
specific Shields 1 practice days. 

 

For the Shields, we realize that the there is a gap between the classes, and
getting your rating, so we are trying to help you get the additional time
you need.

 

We are open for ideas that you might have as well.
