Sailing: Shields tune up, Capri racing and more

To all UCI Sailors:

Here are a few updates: and a new class just added.  Do not forget spring
quarter combos are in effect as well

 

Remember classes start on the water beginning Tuesday April 10:  Please
encourage friends to take classes, and sign up for classes before the first
meeting at the base. Call the ARC at 824-3738 for registration

Capri racing class time change: 

Capri Racing: Thursday April - May 10

Time: 5:: 15-7:30pm

We moved this class from 4:30 to 5:15 to make it more convenient for those
who are working.

 

This class will give those who want to start racing in both Capri's and
shields a chance to start or practice skippering. If you want to know more
about racing, the best way is to get out there and try. Rules, strategies,
and most important, actual on the water skippering.

 Shields Summer evening race Tune up Class with Steve Reed.

 

This is our annual "Tune up class" that is required for those who plan to
skipper in any of the summer inside harbor series including Beercan, AlYC or
Hibachi.

It is also a great time to get in 2 nights on practice on a start, refresh
your skills etc.

 

Dates:  Wednesday and Thursday May 2 and 3rd

Time:  5:30-8pm (come earlier to rig boats if you can)

 

 

Any of those hoping to move up to an S4 also should attend.

We also encourage those who are planning to crew in the races to come. We
want to get 7 or 8 boats out on the line.

 

Cost is $20 for UCI students $30 for all others.

You can register over the phone by calling the ARC sales desk at 824-3738
Tell them you are signing  up for the "Shields Tune up."
