Sailing: "sail Fest", new classes and racing rules seminar

RE:  Reminders of 3 upcoming events.  
 
1.Sunday May 21, 2006 UCISA Annual "Sail Fest" open house at the base
(formerly  Lido Fest)
Come down for a BBQ, Shields rides and Capri racing. All levels of racers
welcome.
Details and sign ups at the Sailing club web site at  www.sailingclub.net
Please RSVP    $5 for the event. Come and join the fun, sign up to race,
sail, or volunteer.
 
2. Summer Sailing Classes:  Sailing classes are open for sign up. There are
weekend classes starting June 3, as well as daytime and evening classes
throughout the summer. Classes are listed on at www.campusrec.uci.edu
 
You can sign up in person, or over the phone at 824-3738.  UCI students,
faculty, staff and alumni eligible , and you may sign up a non affiliated
guest to take the class with you.  Great chance to get out sailing, work
towards a rating, and get involved.
Tell your friends and co-workers about the classes and the club.  Want a
special class? email me to arrange it.
 
3.  Summer Racing Rules Seminar with Steve Reed      Tuesday May 31
6:30-8:30pm  in  ARC  Team room on Campus
This is a functional approach to the rules. Steve will go though a typical
race course, and apply the rules and strategies as you  sail the course.
This is a great chance for racers to get a refresher on the rules and  for
those who want to start racing Capri's or Shields. Crews can learn to
understand what is going on in the races as well.  
Cost: Free to current UCISA members or current sailing class students/$5 for
all others
