To UCI Sailors:

 

Here is some information on Sailing classes that start this weekend, and
the link to the UCI spring quarter sailing classes.

we will be sending out information on Capri and Shields rating
opportunities in the next week.

 

For Capri 2 classes that will start in March:  See Below

 

Shields Advanced Boat Handling with Steve Reed.

Dates:   Saturday and Sunday March 3 and March 4, 2006

Time 12:30-4:30pm  

Cost $30 for UCI students and $35 all others

 

This class is great for those who are already Shields 1 or 2 rated, or
ready to be and really want to learn how to sail the boats efficiently.

The drills and skills learned are great for those who want to get into
racing. ( skills you will need for crowded starts, effectively
maneuvering and mark rounding) or who just want to  really be an
effective  sailor in all situations.

 

You can take this class as a crew also if you are not ready to steer.

 

Steve Reed only teaches a few classes a year, so do not let this
opportunity slip by.

Capri 2 classes: 

 

We are looking into adding one or two  Capri 2 classes this quarter,
especially for those current students;

Email me ASAP if you want to take either of these classes, so I can
confirm enough interest. jlibbets at uci.edu

Proposed classes:

Sunday Capri 2  

Dates:  March 5  12, 19 and 26

Time: 10-2pm

 

And/or

Saturday Capri 2

Dates:  March 11, 18, 25

Time 10-3pm  (3 weeks only)
