Sailing: Capri ratings

To all potential UCISA members
 
Capri Ratings:  In general, written tests need to be taken prior to the on-
the- water test. Written tests can be taken at the ARC Sales desk between
8am and 5pm Monday - Firday. (You need to finish by 5pm)  We also
perodically  schedule times to take them at the sail base.
 
On the water tests:  We will have an on the water this Thursday, December 8,
2005  AND you can take the written test that day as well. 
Written tests:  12:30 sharp at the sail base
Practical tests:  1:30-4pm  
If you have  capsized in  your class and had it verified by your instructor,
we will consider that part of the test completed. If you have not completed
it, plan to do it that day (suggest you borrow a wet suit). If the capsize
is not possible that day, we can do everything else, and work with you on
that.
 
 
Written test review and test:  Saturday December 10.  There will be short
review for the written test this Saturday December 10, 2005 at the docks
Test review at 9:30am and written test 10:15am
 
We potentially will have practical tests that day  and/or on -the- water
practice test. If you want to take the test that day, or practice please let
me know so I can schedule. staff.

There will be more opportunities in January for ratings tests as well.

The rating  test costs:  $15 for students/$25 for all others and is good for
written and practical (if you do not pass, you do not have to pay again.)
 
Look at the Campus Rec web site www.campusrec.uci.edu for winter quarter
classes.  Register by phone or in person.  You do not have to pass the Capri
rating test to take a shields/keelboat class, but it is great to get the
rating and start sailing now.
