* TESOL Call for Writers
"The Language Teacher Research series begins as a three-volume

[The Asia book might have liked the manuscript I just submitted
to an Asia-Pacific Association for CALL book. But the call in the
TESOL Call above for a review of even directly relevant literature
becomes more difficult the more original and authentic the
classroom research is. To show through the graduate students'
eyes how they overcame their skepticism towards online education,
I translated their whole report on the class activities and their
impressions from Japanese, which left little room for citations
and theorizing. Learning management systems also preserve
so much data from a course that only a small fraction could be
used in a short book chapter. Although the audioconferences
were not archived this time, there is still much data from
chats, voice BBS messages that could be transcribed, & etc. - Ed.]

"America has contributed to bin Laden's increased credibility
in the Arab world" [Pakistan has also dismissed U.S. claims
of soon capturing bin Laden as politically motivated - Ed.]

After being shaken up by the strong earthquakes, today I'll have to
leave work early because another strong typhoon is approaching.
Looking forward to solid ground in London and Paris next week,
plus the Association of Internet Researchers conference at the
University of Sussex. Also with classes starting later this month,
both long-suffering and appreciative readers will get a break from PN.
