Dear colleagues and friends,
Keiko and I are proud to announce the birth of our second son, Daniel
Kaito Warschauer. Danny was born at 1:40 pm on Wednesday, June 16.
He is 6 lbs 1/4 ounce and 19 inches at birth.
Danny was born with Down syndrome, resulting from an extra
chromosome, Trisomy 21. We feel blessed with the opportunity to help
Danny achieve his fullest potential in life and share in the love,
affection, and grace that people with Down syndrome inevitably have
to offer in abundance.
Danny unfortunately faces a number of physical challenges which will
likely require several rounds of surgery. Keiko and I ask for your
thoughts and prayers.
I have created a Weblog called "Ocean and Stars" (after his name, as
Kaito means Ocean and Stars in Japanese) to keep friends and family
informed about Danny's condition and to otherwise engage the public
in discussion about Down syndrome. For further information about
Danny, his progress, and Down syndrome, I invite you to visit the
blog at:

You may offer your comments or words of support there as well.
Thank you very much, and God bless you all.
Mark
