Dear colleagues,

A long-time Papyrus News subscriber and friend would like to meet
with someone in the L.A. area regarding a possible e-mail exchange
project. Please reply directly to him if interested.

Dear Mark,

I'm very happy to see you are back dispatching Papyrus News.

I finished reading Electronic Literacies. It convinced me I am on the
right track in search of an alternative to very much bottom-up type
of English teaching prevalent in Japan.

I now believe an Internet English syllabus fit for Japanese EFL students should
consist of two components, web exploration activities and interactive
communication
with native as well as non-native speakers. I'm finding it difficult
to implement the
latter beyond my limited experiments in class.

As I am returning to LA next week for a personal visit. While there,
I am desirous of seeing a teacher who is familiar with using CMC in
their ESL classes.

I am wondering if you'd know a teacher with whom I could meet while
in LA to discuss
implementation issues of e-mail exchange and text-based synchronous discussion.

I would appreciate any tips or suggestions in this regard.

Thank you.
