Nobody replied to my inquiry about Mail--at least nobody who had made
the switch from Eudora. Several people, however, did ask me to let
them know what I found out (sorry!). And a couple asked me about
problems they are having with Eudora or other software programs.
Which leads to my next question: what have people found to be the
best source of online information for solving Macintosh hardware or
software problems, or otherwise getting Mac advice? Let me know and
I'll summarize for the list.

My latest toy, which I'm setting up today, is a Brother
Multi-Function Center (MFC-8820D). I remember when laser printers
first came out and I was dying to buy one, but I had to wait until
the price came down to $1,000. Now, for about $600, I've bought a
combination (1) 17 page-per-minute laser printer (with duplex,
2-sided printing); (2) photocopy machine with reduction/enlargement,
automatic feed, and two-sided printing; (3) a plain paper fax with
loads of memory (and PC fax option); (4) and a full-featured color
scanner! Now let's see if it all works.

By the way, when I want to purchase something online, I usually go to
two sources to find the best price: mysimon.com (which lists results
in price order, but is not always complete), and Froogle.com (which
doesn't list in price order, but is more complete--and can be set to
look in a certain price range.

Hope everybody is having a nice summer (or winter, as it were). Last
night we went to Mission San Juan Capistrano for an outdoor evening
concern (Brasil Brazil). The mission is one of the more beautiful
ones in California, and is often overlooked by visitors to Orange
County. Highly recommended if you are in the area, either for a
daytime tour or for the occasional "Music Under the Stars" summer
concerts.
