I would like to add more information to James Davis' message about the
University of Texas beginning French curriculum, Français Interactif,
(http://www.laits.utexas.edu/fi/) and its companion grammar site, Tex's
French Grammar (http://www.laits.utexas.edu/tex/). Although we
developed this curriculum for U. of Texas students, we have seen a huge
rise in its use this fall (averaging over 400,000 hits a day) and we
are very interested in who, what, and why. Please let me know if you
are encouraging your students to use these sites, and what they are
finding most useful. Our user statistics show that the killer app is
the verb practice.

We would also like to remind users that this content is not in the
'public domain.' Although it is available for personal educational and
non-commercial use, the University of Texas retains the intellectual
property rights to all content on the site (video clips, audio clips,
pdf files, html, server side programming, etc.)

Individual users may download and print pages as long as the copyright
notice appears on the printout and the information is not altered in
any manner. UT does not allow any content to be redistributed,
broadcast or copied to any other media, except with express written
permission, as is the case with the University of Arkansas who publish
the classroom activities in course packet format. UArk has also set
up a mirror site for their students and provides CDs of the audio
material for student purchase.

See http://www.laits.utexas.edu/fi/html/co/ for complete copyright
notice.
