This is an opportunity for the public to join Dr. Allen Collins of the 
National Systematics Lab of NOAA/Curator of the Smithsonian's National 
Museum of Natural History, and his scientific crew to help give the 
Bonaire Banded Box Jellyfish a species name. This new name will become 
the official scientific name and appear in several scientific 
publications, including Zootaxa and Encyclopedia of Life. This contest 
is part of the Year of Science 2009 celebration for June's Ocean and 
Water theme (www.yearofscience2009.org/themes_ocean_water/celebrate/ 
<http://www.yearofscience2009.org/themes_ocean_water/celebrate/>) and 
the Coalition on the Public Understanding of Science 
(www.copusproject.org/).
