Hello Peter:
I think they may be Pinauay crocea (used to be Tubularia crocea),
believed to be cosmopolitan and invasive. 
Check out the latest Lights Manual to see if everything matches up well.
The species is common in protected harbors and is quite large (up to
15cm), so if those attributes don't fit, keep looking.
