[Cnidaria] Photo Identification

Yes, Clifford Edwards, George Mackie, Elaine Robson and I were there. There
were about 36 host Japanese participants and 17 from other countries.(see
expanded list of the latter below). A few papers from non-attendees were
added to the proceedings published in the Publications of the Seto Marine
Biological Laboratory Volume XX. It was a four day meeting on Cnidaria based
in the Koganoi Hotel in Shirahama October 1972 but with this second day bus
trip to Kushimoto and some tours of Shirahama labs on the last day. I have
a copy of this photograph as well as some snapshots of smaller groups taken
on the same day.

Elaine is standing to the right of the group photograph in a blue suit and
light scarf. Yoshiko Kakinuma is standing to her left in a print dress. I am
sitting four rows back near the center of the group in a grey-blue dress. In
the same row Don Ross is seated four to my right (towards the left of the
photograph) and Ruth Ross with a head scarf two to my left. Over my right
shoulder Len Passano is one row further back, and over my left shoulder Dave
Chapman is two rows back and then my husband (Hisao Arai) is standing.
Between Hisao and Elaine Robson Anita Brinckmann-Voss is standing in a pink
and white dress. Bernard Werner is sitting cross-legged at the extreme right
of the photograph.

My snapshots are not necessarily helpful in further identifications due to
variations in the film colours. For example my good snapshot of Toru Yasuda,
Elaine Robson and I shows him wearing a grey-brown suit and a red tie that
day but I can not find that combination in the group photograph; I think he
is sitting to the left of the group photograph

Perhaps some other participants can add to the identifications?

Mary Arai
