Dear,

Gelatinous zooplankton vertical hauls are made with
a MPN (Multi Plankton Net) 25m2 diameter, 300 mm
mesh aperture

Gelatinous zooplankton contain so many groups (Scyphomedusae,
hydromedusae, Siphonophores ,Ctenophore, Pelagic polychaete, Thaliacean Fish
egg and larvae etc …….)

Bud incase of Syphomedusae collection, This large
size plankton may damage the net or sometime misleads the abundance patterns of
other gelatinous zooplankton which entangled with these scyphomedusae, hence
they were studied by direct observation and the specimens were caught by scoop
net or bucket. So assessing the abundance patterns of these groups
(Scyphomedusae) by specially designed net or also by fishing net operations may
be suitable.
