I think Peter Schuchert and Annalise Nawrocki are right. Unfortunately the
picture in Light's manual does not show the laterally flattened ridges on
the female gonophores of Ectopleura crocea (fig. 43 H Light's Manual is from
Brinckmann-Voss , 1970, Fauna e Flora del Golfo di Napoli,39, Text fig.
30, ) however the detail in Text. fig. 31 of the same publication shows
these details.
