Dear Bob,

Those are wonderful but beat up looking specimens of Phacellophora
camtschatica, the egg yolk jellyfish.  I've seen them in the Gulf of
California (near La Paz) while at sea.

The jelly also looks to have symbiotic barnacles, Alepas pacifica,
hitchhiking on the exumbrellar surface near the center.

Hi Folks:
Attached are photos taken by Jose Turrubiates, a biologist with Mexican
fisheries in La Paz. These are medusae abundant in the water column off
Isla Natividad, which is near the Vizcaino peninsula, at about Lat. 28N;
Long. 115W. He would be most thankful for your help identifying the
jellies.
