************************************ UCI sailors enjoy 300 days of sunshine per year and a fleet of 25 boats located in beautiful Newport Beach, just 15 minutes from campus. You can start with no experience and move up to skippering our fleet of classic Shields 30 foot keelboats on the Pacific Ocean! Beginning classes (Capri 1) are taught inside Newport Harbor (no waves) and are designed to get you ready to pass our optional "rating tests". Classes range in size from 8 to 21 students sailing two or three per boat. To register, call 949-824-3738 or go to Campus Recreation at the ARC during office hours. UCI sailing classes are offered year round. http://www.campusrec.uci.edu/sailing/index.asp The Sailing Club (UCI Sailing Association) is open to students, faculty, staff, UC alumni and spouses. Become a "rated" skipper and take your friends sailing! UCISA currently has 140 active members. Student membership begins at $65 per quarter giving you almost unlimited access to UCI's boats. http://www.sailingclub.net UCI Varsity Sailing Team Undergrads: co-ed athletic sailing.
